Questions

The answers, in full

Eighteen straight answers about what Marlune does, where your data goes, what it costs, and the things it deliberately will not do. If yours is not here, a person will answer it.

Getting started

You tap through a short set of questions on a five step severity scale, covering how your hot flashes, sleep, mood, anxiety, brain fog and energy were. You add any context tags for what affected your day, such as alcohol, poor sleep, exercise, stress, caffeine, travel, hydration, social, or a tag you create yourself, and you can leave a note if you want to.

It takes about twenty seconds. You can check in in the morning or at night, whichever suits you.

The first patterns typically appear after about two weeks of check-ins. Marlune deliberately says nothing until it has enough of your own days to be honest about, so a pattern needs a minimum number of days on both sides of a comparison before it will be shown at all. Until then you still get your own history and trends to look at.

No to both. HRT tracking is entirely optional and the app works exactly the same if you never turn it on. Many people start during perimenopause, when the changes are least predictable and hardest to describe, which is also when a record of your own days is most useful. You do not need a diagnosis to start.

Your data and privacy

No. Your health data is never sold. Not to data brokers, not to insurers, not to researchers, not to anyone, in any form, ever. It is never used to target ads, build ad profiles, or for any other use-based data mining.

Marlune runs no ads and carries no advertising networks, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites, which is why you will never see an App Tracking Transparency prompt from us. The full detail is in our Privacy Policy.

A short list, and that is all of it.

  • An AI provider generates Juno's replies and the wording of your insights.
  • Cloud hosting and database providers keep your account and your logged data and run our backend.
  • Apple processes your purchase and a subscription provider relays your subscription status.

You can ask us the current name of any of them at any time, and each one is bound by contract to protect your data to the standard our Privacy Policy sets, may use it only to deliver the service, and may not use it to train any AI model.

Yes to both, from inside the app, without emailing anyone first. Open the You tab, tap My data, then Export my data for a copy, or Delete everything and confirm to remove it all. The same delete control also sits under Personal details, in the Account group.

Deletion removes your entire account record: your check-ins, symptom history, cycle dates, notes, treatment logs, Juno conversations, and your account details. It is a deletion, not a deactivation, it cannot be undone, and copies held in encrypted backups are purged within 30 days.

Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription, because Apple bills it, so please cancel in your Apple Account settings as well.

No. This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and contains no tracking pixels, which is why there is no cookie banner. There is nothing to consent to.

The only outside request the page makes is to Google Fonts, to load the two typefaces, which discloses your IP address and browser user agent to Google in the ordinary course of serving a font file. If you choose to write to support, we hold that address in our support mailbox for that one purpose, which is answering you.

This is the question health apps usually dodge, so here is a straight answer. If Marlune ever shuts down, we will give you notice in the app and by email, with time to export everything you have logged, and we will delete the remaining data rather than sell it or hand it on.

If Marlune were ever acquired, your data would only transfer to a buyer bound by these same commitments, and we would tell you before it happened so you could export and delete first if you preferred. Your health data is not an asset we would ever put up for sale on its own.

Juno and AI

Juno is a private AI companion inside Marlune. Her replies are generated by an AI model, our AI provider running through our own backend, not written by a clinician, and they can be incomplete or wrong. Treat them as general supportive information and nothing more. Every conversation carries a reminder that Juno does not give medical advice.

Yes, that is the point of her. When you ask a question, the relevant check-in context is sent through our backend to our AI provider for the moment it takes to produce an answer. That context can include your symptom scores, tags, treatment logs, and the free text note attached to a day, plus monthly averages of what you logged going back up to a year so she is not limited to the last fortnight. It is not retained for training, by us or by that provider.

No. Juno conversations are never used to train any AI model, ours or anyone else's. Every processor we work with is contractually barred from using your data for model training.

Subscription and billing

Marlune without a subscription is a complete app: daily check-ins, personal insights across your own check-ins, symptom and cycle tracking, doctor visit prep with the PDF to take with you, the evidence-based reading library, the letter explaining this to someone close to you, one Streak Freeze, the last 7 and 30 days of trends, your first treatment trial result, and three Juno conversations a day.

Marlune+ adds unlimited Juno conversations, trends going back three months, six months and a year, Months in review, as many treatment trials as you like, reading your lab results in plain language, a second Streak Freeze, and every accent theme.

Marlune+ Yearly is $49.99 per year, charged once as a single payment, which works out to $4.17 per month. Marlune+ Monthly is $9.99 per month. New subscribers get 30 days free on either plan.

When the trial ends you are billed at the plan price. To pay nothing, turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the trial ends. Prices shown are in US dollars. At purchase you will see your own currency, which may vary by region and local tax, and the App Store price at that moment is the one that applies.

Cancel in your Apple Account settings. Open Settings, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, select Marlune, then tap Cancel Subscription. Cancelling stops the next renewal and you keep access until the end of the period you already paid for. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

To restore, open Marlune, go to the You tab and tap Restore purchases, using the same Apple Account you bought with.

Refunds are handled by Apple, not by Marlune, at reportaproblem.apple.com. Apple's own instructions for cancelling are in their guide to managing subscriptions on your Apple device. If you get stuck, email marluneappsupport@gmail.com.

Medical and safety

No. Marlune does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. It is a wellness and education app. It is not a medical device, it has not been cleared or approved by the FDA, the MHRA, or any other regulator.

It does not measure any physiological value using your phone's sensors. It does not read blood pressure, body temperature, blood glucose, blood oxygen, or anything else from your device, so it makes no accuracy claim about any health measurement.

It records what you tell it and reports patterns back to you. Those patterns are observations about your own logged days. They are not diagnoses, they are not proof of cause, and they should not be used to start, stop, or change any treatment.

Do not use Marlune. Call 911, or your local emergency number if you are outside the United States, or go to your nearest emergency department. If you are having thoughts of harming yourself, call or text 988 in the United States to reach the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.

Marlune is not a substitute for professional medical care, and you should never disregard or delay professional advice because of something you read in it.

Devices and account

Marlune is an iPhone app, built for iOS and distributed only through the App Store. It runs on iPhone models supported by recent versions of iOS, and it works on iPad in iPhone compatibility mode. There is no Apple Watch app, no Android version, and no web app at launch.

If you would like to be told when any of that changes, email marluneappsupport@gmail.com and we will keep you posted.

You sign in with Apple or with Google. There is no SMS or phone number option, deliberately. Sign in with Apple, together with Hide My Email, is the more private route, and every App Store install already has an Apple Account.

Because your history lives in your private Marlune account rather than only on the device, signing in on a new phone brings your check-ins, cycle dates, notes and Juno history back with you. Then tap Restore purchases in the You tab to bring back Marlune+.

Still stuck

A real person reads every message.

No account needed, no ticket portal, no chatbot standing between you and an answer. Email us and you will hear back from someone who works on Marlune, within 2 business days and usually sooner.

Please do not send symptom details or clinical questions. We cannot give medical advice.
